About the Author It is probably no accident that Jacobo's Ghost begins with the young protagonist on his way to his parents' hometown. Travelling around the Philippines and abroad with the family was one of the author's most memorable girlhood experiences. Annette Flores Garcia's stories and essays have appeared in the Sunday Inquirer Magazine, Parents, Good Housekeeping, Woman's Home Companion, and Cosmopolitan Philippines. She is the author of Tiger on the Wall, published by Adarna House, and co-author of A Child's Treasury of Christmas Stories, published by Tahanan Books. Her work is included in Water in the Ring of Fire, a collection of Asia-Pacific folktales. A freelance writer, Ms. Garcia lives in Quezon City with her husband Pacifico and sons Jose Miguel, Carlo, Rico, and Eduardo. Jacobo's Ghost is her first novella.
